I don't Twitter myself, but my sources tell me that the Web site is to the hip-hop world what All That Chat is to Broadway. Which means, I guess, that the hip-hop world has show queens, too.
In any case, all that Twittering - plus old-fashioned rave reviews from non-Twittering theater critics and columnists - has made "Fela!" the hottest show in town. The limited off-Broadway run ends Oct. 4, and there isn't a ticket to be had.
In addition to Jay-Z and Beyoncé, other celebs who've managed to get in include Alicia Keys, Toni Morrison, Lou Reed, Fiona Apple and Charlize Theron.
As for Broadway, "Fela!" producer Steve Hendel, who's struck gold with this, his first production, says: "We're exploring things. We haven't entirely decided yet, but the theater world in New York revolves around Broadway, so it's hard to resist."
